Languitecture: The Construction and Deconstruction of language
Languitecture is a group art exhibion taking place at Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam between 19-29 August 2017. The exhibition showcases the works of seven artists from different cultural backgrounds who came together to participate in an artistic experiment aiming to discover some of the secrets behind language. The investigation is focused on the artists' mother-tongues; Spanish, Arabic, German and English, and explores how language addresses the cultural shift between memory and identity to physical representation.
The artworks of Languitecture went through a process of iteration and trnaslation. At Drongo, the audience is invited to participate in a guessing game through which they will try to uncover the slow metamorphosis of language that took place throughout the process of artistic creation.
